What if you chose to say what you mean and mean what you say?
What would be possible?
What would you ask for?
What would you tell?
What could you change?
What could you create?
Wouldn’t that be incredible.
Do you practice conversations in your head?
Do you try and preempt others’ responses and tailor your words to please others?
Do you worry about what other people think about you?
Yes?!
The day I realised that everyone does this to some degree, I felt so relieved, because I spent so much time doing it. But so sad.
A rocket went up my backside that day, back in 2001.
I realised that we humans are wasting our incredible expressiveness by constantly editing ourselves out of fear!
What a huge waste of time!
What are we all doing?
What if we trusted ourselves to express ourselves well?
What if we trusted others to hear us?
What if we thought others were being honest with us?
What difference would that make to all of our lives?
Here’s the thing.
We cannot change anyone else, but we can make a stand for what we want.
So, make a stand and:
Say what you mean and mean what you say.
Say it with kindness, generosity and love.
Stop messing around.
Stop wasting time.
What are you waiting for?
